Our latest video for SolarCity guides customers through the process of installing solar energy systems in their homes. (And I’m happy to report that I am writing this blog post from our new office, which is in a solar-powered building in San Francisco!)
We wrapped up 2012 by talking to Laura Fraser, a writer and life-long bibliophile (she has kept a running list of all the books she’s ever read since she was 13!). Laura gave us a fascinating glimpse into a full-time writer’s life, including her own process in transforming difficult life events into page-turning memoirs. She also shared some of her extensive knowledge of the craft of writing, from what makes a good story to why a daily writing practice is so essential. Thanks Laura for such a fun and inspiring interview!
Laura Fraser is a San Francisco-based journalist and writing mentor whose latest book, All Over the Map, is a travel memoir and sequel to her 2001 New York Times bestseller, An Italian Affair. Laura’s first book, an exposé of the diet industry, was Losing It.
Last week was an exciting one for Story Eyed Media - we got to see our videos displayed on the giant NASDAQ screens in Times Square, as part of SolarCity’s launch as a public company. Thanks to everyone on the SolarCity team who made this happen, it was a very proud day for us and for solar energy!

We couldn’t travel there ourselves for the launch, but we had photographer Vishnu Hoff record the experience for us, which he did beautifully.
