In late August, the Story Eyed team met up with local artist Patter Hellstrom in her sunny SOMA loft, to film her as she prepared for an installation entitled “Grief Path,” which just opened September 21st and is on exhibit at California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) until December 1st.  This footage, along with footage of Patter creating the installation on a 40-foot wall, became part of a 5-minute video.

Video is a perfect medium for showing the process of an artist’s work, from conception and design to execution and completion.  It made sense especially for this piece, which describes the artist’s experience of moving through the process of grieving.   Thanks to Patter and to CIIS for having us collaborate on such an inspiring project, well done!
